ANALYSIS OF ALPACA FIBRE

Get a real understanding of alpaca fibre from an industry and farm perspective. Be educated on the most recent developments from one of AOBA’s Judge Trainers. This information has been collected from Wade's international experience in judging, traveling, consulting and breeding. The course is designed with multiple hands on break out secessions to achieve the highest understanding of each topic.

Come and refine your knowledge of what makes alpaca fiber so incredible. Learn to identify what is superior, average & mediocre characteristic for each of our fleece characteristics. Discover the ins and outs about crimp styles, brightness, and density and gain an understanding where your alpacas measure up. Learn how to estimate microns with your own eyes & fingers! Grow your knowledge and confidence with this hands-on experience as you go through examples. As an extra benefit, feel free to bring two of your own fleeces to be evaluated by the class! Other topics such as fibre theories and industry developments will also be discussed. No matter your involvement in the industry this is a comprehensive class that brings everything about alpaca fleece together. Novice  to advanced breeders are welcome.
